What is an Open Source Camp/Drupal Camp?

Drupal is a free open-source content management system (CMS) written in the PHP programming language. Drupal Camps are community sharing + training events for Drupal enthusiasts and newbies alike. Drupal Camp Chattanooga is an attendee-driven, completely volunteer initiative modeled after the open, participatory nature of barcamps. The event is catered towards everyone – curious beginners, designers, developers, and business owners are all welcome!

Our mission and purpose behind organizing a Open Source / Drupal Camp Chattanooga is twofold:

  1. We want to educate people about Open Source technologies & Drupal.
  2. We want to further evangelize Open Source & Drupal within our geographic region.

Where and when is the Open Source Camp / Drupal Camp Chattanooga this year?

Open Source Camp / Drupal Camp Chattanooga is a jam-packed learning experience to be held at Chattanooga state Community College. The camp will start at 8:45am, and after-hours party will be from 6:00pm until late in downtown Chattanooga.

How many are you expecting?

We have a location that we can accommodate 150+ attendees. Camps frequently sell out, have waiting lists, so registering as soon as possible is highly encouraged.

When will the session submission process close?

The deadline for submitting a session will be a week before the camp. However, we would highly encourage you to submit your session as soon as possible to allow more time for voting, commenting, and general interaction. Voting for sessions will be open for anyone registered and viewing proposed sessions. The organizers will then finalize the schedule, contact the speakers selected to present, and post the final schedule on the website.

If I am selected to present a session, what do I need to do?

Bring a laptop with your presentation, we'll have HDMI connections for the projectors. You can upload your slides to this site after your presentation. We should also be recording the session, which will be made available on YouTube.

Will I receive any registration materials in the mail?

No, everything is handled online. Show up with an ID that matches your registration.
We’ll send you a few emails leading up to the conference, but that’s it. Then when you sign in at Open Source Camp / Drupal Camp Chattanooga, all you need to do is provide your registration information.

Can I pay with a purchase order/check/cash?

We can only accept credit cards.

Is Open Source Camp / Drupal Camp Chattanooga a good event for newbies?

Absolutely! We have a special Beginner’s track for those who are just familiarizing themselves with Open Source & Drupal. A whole days training Drupal from Doug Vann, the Drupal trainer to NASA.
