What is an Open Source Camp?
Open Source Camps are community-sharing + training events for Open Source enthusiasts and newbies alike. Open Source Camp is an attendee-driven, completely volunteer initiative. Most of the content will be web-specific, but there will also be presentations related to more general technologies.
Why is the event a Camp?
Open Source Camp is called a “camp” to emphasize the unconference style of the event. Unconferences are more casual than most conferences and are usually organized and attended by members of a local community. The name originates from BarCamp, a popular community-driven unconference. Please do not bring your tent :)
What's the goal of Open Source Camp Chattanooga?
Our mission and purpose behind organizing a Open Source Camp is as follows:
- Learn and educate about Open Source technologies and web development in general.
- Provide networking opportunities for all.

How much does Open Source Camp Chattanooga cost?
The cost to attend is $40 and includes access to training and sessions. If you would like to support our local community further, you can become an Individual Sponsor for only $30+. The sponsorship includes your registration and a shout-out on our sponsor page. All proceeds will go to offset expenses and make donations to the Chattanooga Drupal User Group or Drupal Association.
How many attendees are you expecting?
This year we're expecting 70+ attendees.
Will I receive any tickets in the mail?
No, everything is handled online through Eventbrite. Show up with an ID that matches your registration.
We’ll send you a few emails leading up to the conference, but that’s it. Then when you sign in at Open Source Camp, all you need to do is provide your registration information.
Can I pay with check/cash?
We can only accept credit cards.
Is Open Source Camp Chattanooga an event friendly to newbies?
Absolutely! We have a special Beginner’s track for those who are just familiarizing themselves.
